Turtleneck Sweater

Hello everyone!

This sweater design is one of my favourite so far because it's so easy and you can get it done in a day or two.

Once you understand how to construct the design you don't even have to refer to the pattern anymore and you can simply adjust it to your liking, whether you want it to be longer or a cropped sweater style.

I put the summary tables at the bottom of this page for all sizes, you can refer to that tables only when you understood how to do the pattern already.

If you don’t understand any part of this pattern, please refer to the video tutorial.

You can buy the ads-free printable PDF version of this pattern here.

Next we are going to shape the turtleneck by adding more stitches.

Foundation chain for turtleneck:

Ch 20

The length of the turtleneck is about 4 inches.

If you want it longer just simply add more stitches.

We will use hdc st for the turtleneck but if you want it looser more like a cowl neck style use dc st.

Row (22, 24, 26):

Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in the next 14 sts, dc in next 3 ch sts,

Row (24, 26, 28):

Hdc in next 15 sts, dc in (53, 57, 61) sts, hdc in next 10 sts, ch 2, turn.

Repeat the pattern from last 2 rows alternately until you have a total of (17, 19, 21) rows for the turtleneck.

Row (39, 43, 47):

Hdc BLO in 10 sts, dc in next (50, 54, 58) sts, ch 2, turn.

Row (41, 45, 49) – (59, 65, 71):

Facing WS, join shoulder and neck seam with sl st or sew with darning needle.

Put the body aside and continue to make the sleeve.

Sleeve (Make 2)

Foundation chain:

Make a slip knot and ch (47, 49, 51).

If you want the length of your sleeve to be longer, simply add more chain.

After you make 10 hdc for the ribbing just dc in all the remaining sts and follow the pattern.

Row 1(RS):

Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in the next 9 sts, dc in next (35, 37, 39) sts,

ch 2, turn.
